Snapshots of a Life

by Vinita Hampton Wright on 11/16/2011

In Monday’s post, I encouraged you to imagine your life so far as a collection of photographs. Let’s return to that idea. Scan the many images that come to mind—the events, people, places, and moments of your life. And pick out three:

  • Photo #1: This is a photo of a person who taught you a lot about love.
  • Photo #2: This is a photo of a place that was really good for your soul.
  • Photo #3: This is a photo of you at a time when you felt truly beautiful or content.

photographsTake some time in the next few days to linger with these images. Pray over them. Offer thanks. Ask God questions. Murmur whatever emotion wells up.

Then, offer each image to Divine love. They began as God’s gifts to you. Today, your memories and prayers over them are your gifts to God.

“This is a photo of a place that was really good for your soul.”
I would “picture” that place as a life place wherein I realized that when Jesus said that without him we can do nothing –
– HE MEANT NOTHING.

Absolutem.
