Let’s see what Margaret Silf, the “Winter” author of Daily Inspiration for Women, has to say on this day:
I once had a colleague who carved wooden figures out of the most unlikely lumps of rough timber. He could walk through a lumberyard, pick up a piece of wood, and already see the new thing that lay within it. There was nothing special about the wood he chose. It was just a matter of seeing the potential that lay within it.
Sitting beside the winter fire, I often think of those ordinary logs and what could be made from them. I watch the flames leaping. I feel the fire’s warmth in a cold world. I think of how our creator can see the possibilities glowing in our hearts, and, if we are willing to allow it, can turn the potential into the real.
What dream is God dreaming inside the apparent ordinariness of your life right now?
