Lyn Holley Doucet is a spiritual director, pastoral counselor, author, and speaker who lives in the village of Maurice, Louisiana. She was a special educator and liturgical musician for many years.
Her books include: When Wisdom Speaks: Living Experiences of Biblical Women, When Women Pray: Our Personal Experiences of Extraordinary Grace, available from Crossroad Publishing Company and co-authored with Robin Hebert, Healing Troubled Hearts: Daily Spiritual Exercises, is available from St. Anthony Messenger Press and A Healing Walk with St. Ignatius, a collection of real-life stories in which God’s grace, healing, and love have been made manifest is available from Loyola Press. Her first book, Water from Stones: An Inner Journey, won a Catholic Press Award as a book of excellence from a small publisher.
- Lyn sees directees at her home in Maurice where her garden and a new labyrinth enhance the setting. She leads a centering prayer group each week and uses art, music, and storytelling to enhance the work of spiritual direction.
- She is active in retreat work and has spoken at church and retreat centers across Louisiana and in Texas. She is currently securing masters in counseling at the University of Louisiana.
- Lyn is also active in Theresians International, and she spoke at a recent Theresian National Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
- She does grief- support work at the diocese of Lafayette and at Hospice of Acadiana.
Nature, art, and reading are her passions. She is a wife, and mother of one son, Jacques, who is a sportscaster in Baton Rouge.
