Lenten Retreat
Days of Deepening Friendship: A Lenten Retreat
As we did last year, we will again be hosting a Lenten Retreat on the Days of Deepening Friendship blog. This retreat will give us a chance to reflect on our daily lives and to prepare prayerfully for Holy Week and Easter. It is my hope that throughout the weeks of Lent, this retreat will provide you with an opportunity for spiritual renewal as you participate in the reflections and exercises. The retreat materials this year will be drawn from The World as It Should Be: Living Authentically in the Here-and-Now Kingdom of God by Gregory F.A. Pierce. This book gives us a fresh perspective on our role in bringing about the kingdom of God, and we will be exploring this theme especially as it relates to the Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Each week’s reflection is drawn from a chapter of The World as It Should Be and these chapters will be accessible on the blog. However, if you would like to get a head start on your reading or read the book in its entirety, you can take advantage of a special price (only $10) when you order now, and use discount code DDFLENT.
Part of a retreat is forming a community, and I look forward to sharing this experience with you.
Vinita

I’d love to participate in this year’s retreat. Do I have to register for the retreat or will I automatically be getting an email about it. I have been receiving the wonderful emails from Simple Acts of Moving Forward.

This will be a great preparation for the coming Holy week where we will remeber the passion and death of our Lord Jesus Chirst as manifestation of God’s love for us. May this retreat help to grow in my sanctity and follow the Lord’s commandment of loving our neighbors
